Dr Sybil Seoka is a highly accomplished healthcare leader, pharmacist and industry pioneer with over four decades of experience spanning hospital pharmacy, academia, regulatory affairs, and the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors.
She holds a Ph.D. in Pharmacy Administration from the University of Illinois, Chicago, and is widely recognised for her strategic leadership and deep expertise in healthcare regulation and governance.
Dr Seoka played a pivotal role in shaping South Africa's regulatory landscape. She served as Deputy Registrar of the Medicines Control Council and contributed to the establishment of the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority, the country's modern regulatory body for health products.
A respected leader in professional circles, she is a past President of the Pharmaceutical Society of South Africa and currently serves as Chairperson of the Professional Provident Society Holdings Trust. She has contributed extensively at board level across multiple organisations, bringing a strong focus on governance, ethics and strategic oversight.
As founder and Managing Director of Ample Resources (Pty) Ltd, Dr Seoka has led a medical device distribution company for more than 25 years, building it into a trusted and credible player in the healthcare sector.
Her influence extends beyond the boardroom. She has addressed local and international audiences, including at the Lambeth Conference in the United Kingdom, and brings a leadership perspective grounded in integrity, service, diligence and lifelong learning.
